Irwin Cohen – President
Irwin is the owner of Irwin Cohen Group, an insurance brokerage firm founded in 1977. Irwin is recognized as a leading specialist in disability insurance and Long Term Care. While Irwin’s background is in insurance, the majority of his time these days is working as a strategic connector for his clients and associates. Irwin focuses on introducing professionals and business owners to new clients and strategic partners that can help them achieve their goals and grow their businesses. While his overarching goal is to help others achieve their objectives, Irwin’s ongoing commitment to his clients is to preserve their ability to generate income and protect their families from the emotional and financial loss caused by disability, illness or death.
Melissa Cohen – Vice President
Melissa has 20 years of insurance industry experience, working alongside Irwin in the early days while raising their young daughter, Mira, and now assists the team in the creation and implementation of marketing and operating strategies to maintain traction in the business. She is also pivotal in streamlining our underwriting processes and ongoing improvement of the high-touch service model that we provide to our prestigious list of clients.
Michael Weiner – Chief Operating Officer
Michael brings over 30 years of business and financial experience to Irwin Cohen Group. After earning his BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana, Michael became a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner, but his talents quickly took him beyond the numbers. After starting, and subsequently selling, his financial planning practice Michael owned and operated a manufacturing service company and a document destruction firm. His experiences in operating companies combined with his financial management skills have brought him full circle, back to the financial services industry and Irwin Cohen Group. At Irwin Cohen Group, Michael oversees all aspects of operations of the company to make sure all clients are provided with the highest level of responsive customer service.
Mags O’Sullivan-Tomich – Customer Service Coordinator
Margaret O’Sullivan-Tomich (“Mags”) joined Irwin Cohen Group in 2018. Mags has over 20 years of professional work experience with increasing responsibilities in project management, office administration and client relationships. Her background in improving back-office processes and her commitment to customer service made her well suited for the role of Customer Service Coordinator at Irwin Cohen Group. In her short time with the company, Mags has already made tremendous process improvements and will be instrumental in achieving the company goal of 100% Customer Satisfaction.
Nicole Grove – Marketing Coordinator
Nicole has over 10 years of multifaceted work experience with a focus on marketing and customer service. She works incredibly well in a fast-paced environment, and that is just what she has found at Irwin Cohen Group. She takes great pride in improving organization, so she has been an excellent fit for refining the structure of Irwin’s networking groups and increasing the value of the networking experience for each of its members. Nicole has been a wonderful addition to the team, not only for Irwin, but also for the people that Irwin is trying to help through strategic connections with others.
